The new Novel coronavirus or COVID-19 has gotten us all in a spot. Although we had seen glimpses of images and news from Wuhan, China about the breakout of a new strain of coronaviruses, we never imagined in a hundred years that we, sitting across the globe in the comfort of our homes will be affected too! You are not the only one who is taken aback by the recent events that have surfaced. Countries have closed their borders, flight services suspended, schools closed, offices closed and employees asked to work from home. The streets are deserted and many of us have started stocking up and panic buying unnecessarily. A special stress on the word “unnecessary”!
You must be feeling anxious and uncertain about what is to come in the coming weeks and months and if at all this will die down. Well let me remind you all, that you are not alone!
Do your part by being well-informed and current over the events taking place. If you are unsure or don’t have a credible source such as the WHO, or the CDC or your national health agency, then don’t pass the information on your social media page or status. The one thing that spreads faster than the COVID-19 virus is the fear instilled by misinformation! You can also take a break from social media!
Do your part and don’t spread the corona virus. You can do this by isolating yourself within your home, and limiting outside exposure. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly with soap. Rub between the fingers and under the nails for atleast 20 seconds to ensure you get every nook and cranny. Be sure to wear a face mask when you are outside or in the vicinity of ill people. You can find good quality affordable face masks at hdfacemask.com .
If you feel ill or are showing symptoms of the COVID-19 virus, worry not. Contact your nearest government health care centre and they will advise you on what to do. Stay indoors and isolate yourself. If you feel your condition worsening, get help by contacting your nearest hospital.
Remember that the coronavirus is a weak respiratory virus, so with proper care and rest it will pass. It is because of its contagious nature that it is creating widespread fear. Keep your wits about yourself and stay indoors!
